Ransomware event - Petya: 06.27.17

Please be aware of a new ransomware event, currently affecting the Ukraine and parts of Europe.

Initial reports indicate Petya is using similar exploits as Wannacry. 

Best practices recommended include: 

1) Ensuring your Windows machines have the latest updates

2) Avoid clicking any suspicious links or opening any suspicious files

Zimbra: Certificate error and instructions to correct 04/10/2017

Xmission/Zimbra SSL Cert Alert:

 

Zimbra is currently aware of an SSL Cert failure when trying to connect to https://flexbox.mxtoolbox.com /.

 

As we continue to resolve the issue, we ask to please change your inbound server routing from flexbox.mxtoolbox.com to zimbra.xmission.com directly. This temporary workaround will help resolve your email issues.

 

Please see screen shots below to help further in changing your inbound server.

Edgewave - ePrism Email Security Suite version 10.5 Release

Edgewave is pleased to announce the release of ePrism Email Security Suite version 10.5 on Tuesday March 21st, 2017.

The release will be automatically installed but will not result in any email downtime. During the upgrade users will be logged out from the ePrism web interface.

This release contains spam filter improvements, encryption usability improvements and various feature enhancements and bug fixes.

Proofpoint Essentials: IP address on the Sorbs Blacklist 01.18.2017

Please be advised that IP Address 67.231.154.164 is on the Sorbs Blacklist.

If a server or firewall is utilizing a RBL (Roaming Block List) service, it will in turn do a look up from Sorbes and will block the message. 

In order to work around this, you will need to turn the service off or add the IP address to the allow list of the RBL service they are using.

Excel Micro made Proofpoint aware of this IP address issue and they are in the process of getting it delisted from the Sorbes list.

Mail sent to customers using the old MX record format on the my.redcondor.com brand has been rejected on 12/22/16 due a change in hardware. This issue has been fixed as 5 pm PST 12/22/16.
Please be advised that if you are using the old format you must change it to the new format to avoid an interruption in service before Jan 15, 2017.

Old format:
amx..redcondor.net
bmx..redcondor.net
smx..redcondor.net
vmx..redcondor.net

New format:
.mx1.rcimx.com
.mx2.rcimx.com
.mx3.rcimx.com
.mx4.rcimx.com
