Can Outlook's Confidential setting be used to trigger encryption?
Posted by Carlos Rios on 17 November 2017 07:25 PM

You can use Outlook's Confidential setting to force a message to be encrypted. When this Outlook setting is enabled, the ZixGateway's "Default Encrypt & Send Policy" policy is invoked. This ensures your confidential information is properly secured.

In Outlook, enabling this option will vary depending on the version of Outlook you are using. Below are a few examples.

Outlook 2007:
   Compose an email.
In the top menu, click the down arrow next to "Options"
Set the "Sensitivity" value to "Confidential"

Outlook 2003:
   Compose an email.
   Then, select "File" > "Properties"
Set the "Sensitivity" value to "Confidential"
